Carla Gilmore joined the firm in 1995. Her practice emphasizes business and commercial Litigation and Labor & Employment, including discrimination and harassment litigation, wrongful termination, and the full range of other state law claims that arise in the workplace. She frequently represents businesses in disputes involving non-competition agreements and in matters involving trade secrets or proprietary or confidential information. Carla has experience in defending litigation and administrative matters involving claims of sexual harassment and racial harassment and age, race, sex, disability, and pregnancy discrimination. She performs internal investigations for corporate clients on a wide variety of employment issues; she also provides training for clients to perform their own investigations, and counsels clients through major employment decisions in an effort to avoid litigation.
Carla’s practice also involves brief-writing at all phases of litigation. She has extensive experience in dispositive motion practice and has successfully represented clients in appeals before the Supreme Court of Alabama and the Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Away from work, Carla enjoys volunteer work with The Junior League Montgomery, having served on the League’s Board of Directors for several years.
